Capers With My College’s Gang

It’s a long holiday for every one of us who sat the A Level examination last year. No more waking up in the early to ready for school, no more schoolwork and homework given by our teachers, no more long hours of listening in the class. Freedom is upon us that we can sleep till sunset without being awake by mums, dads, grandparents or maids. Haha! But boredom is upon us too that there isn’t much talking, gossiping or laughing like what we used to have together in the school’s classrooms while we’re waiting for teachers or during the long bore lessons, walkways while we’re heading to the classrooms, canteen while we having our break, corners while we’re waiting for our cars or hanging around, library while we doing or copying homework, the LTs while we’re having our PS or even toilets while we are hunger for cigarettes. Holiday had started and some of us had started to work part times, some goes for vacation, some staying at home helping parents or becomes “Ketua Kampong” or “Juru-Ukur”. Everyone has their own things to do that the times we hang out together also got lesser and lesser.

The chance that we all could get in together and spend the times together in a big group like what we used to be is going out for outing/ gathering that all of us sit down together in the same table and do the things like before. [Talking, talking, talking, talking……] It’s been a few months since our last outing together at Rizqun International Hotel that everyone is craving and ready for another gathering.

That’s us during the gathering at Rizqun. More guys huhh! =)

After the long waits, here we are going to have gathering at Capers. Jackie KoKo who is currently is attending his NS in East-Malaysia escaped back to Brunei to join us. Haha! Well, it’s not escaping la; he’s having his off-day from the training. [Seem to be relax huhh, still have off-day]Yeah, everyone needs a break right? =)

That day also can count as a celebration night for you all. It’s the day that you all got the news which you all had been accepted to continue your studies in UBD. Everything will be going back like before. Wake up in the morning to ready for class, attending the long hour of lesson and more, more, more assignments or tasks also will be given by lecturer/ teachers. Owww! Life’s getting tougher. Haha! Rest if you’re tired but don’t you give up. [You don’t lose when you lost because you’ll gain or learn from it but you lose everything when you stop.] You’ll just stuck in the middle and couldn’t know either you’re winning or losing.] Don’t you guys worry, cause there will be the FUN too. New environments to explore, new people to make friends with, new stories/ gossips to share with, new challenges to overcome and so on so on.

Yeah, the moments that we all want and wait for a long time already.

What could it be? Err……

FOODS!!! Haha ;)

As usual, I’m still unfamiliar with the names of the menus in Capers because there have long and hard to pronounce name for the menus. I just recognize the menus by the ingredients shown there. Let me do it in my way in introducing the FOODS.

Pizzas

Capers tomato mussels and baby clams mee

Capers Tomato Mee

Capers butter Kolo-Keow Tiaw. Haha

Can this consider “The Beef Shank”? Err… (?_?)

Here there are, “Ah-Yong’s Capers + Kopitiam menus” All of it do look resemble as what I describe. And there is one that looks alike “Pan Mien” too.

So far I still haven’t see any that look alike “Hockien Mee” Haha! I’ll look forward toward it. Capers, Gambateh in adding your menus =)

We have twins as in Hong Kong’s girl band. In Brunei we also have twins but as in Sony Digi-Case.

It’s Joey Lai and mine that contributed by all of you. \^_^/

Say HI to Joey’s new digital camera. “Hello, Cool ohh!”

It’s the “YUN” [Jia Yun and Sin Yun]

Arrghhh!!! At the end of the night, let’s take a group photo before we say the magic words!

“Okay! That’s a wrap!” Haha! Still more guys than the ladies.

Hey Hey! It’s not yet a wrap for me. Night is still young though… Eiseh!

Below, I’m going to introduce the “三连拍” that shows the different PATTERNs of me oh! Are you all ready?

Back to the topic, here’s my”三连拍

The Chinese spent their morning’s breakfast time in restaurants discussing, talking, showing and studying about birds. Weii Weii, don’t get it in a wrong way huhh! We always see these in the movies! Wong Fei Hong does that. Sung Sai Kit does that. Tong Pak Fu does that. Those were the old times’ famous people. And now, Soon Kian Yong does that too!

Err… Do I look like the fishermen in Vietnam? Hehe!

And lastly, the last picture in these post and also a “Kao Lat” one!

Aiyooohhh! Yao Siu!!! 这佯也几够力一下Lohh! [Zhe Yang Ye Ji Gou Li Yi Xia Lohh!] Haha!

Be careful and cautious by the time you heard that Sky is going to Thailand for vacation. It maybe not that simple oh! Haha.

Finally, let’s call it a night at Capers in 17th July 2008.

Congratulation to all of you there!

[Things that come from big efforts, hard work, and patience are always the things that last long]

Hang in there no matter how hard it is.

Hawkers Nite With Aspirasi

There were times that we studied our upper secondary level together as classmates for 2years. It’s nice to be classmates with you all that I’d improved my Malay language and learnt lots of “Bahasa Brunei” from you guys. I heard and learnt quite a number of Poems, Jokes, Stories, Gossips and etc from you guys. There were times that we all share the laughter and pain together, which we played, joked, story-telling, gossiping together. And we also shared our problems together which we sit down together helping each other’s out. All these made everyone of us got closer together and made my attendance outstanding. -_-!!

We all did enjoyed the 2years time together that we made school’s time FUN. We had moments of bringing and storing snacks inside the classroom’s cabinet. We also brought hot drinks like coffee or tea to class which we enjoyed our lessons and our lepak-ing with foods and drinks. We BOO when someone made silly/ cold jokes or did something silly. There were also times that some of you got argue with the teacher. And for the most of the times, we like to make fun of our teachers especially our Malay teacher. <- Minta Maaf ya, Cikgu! You know who you are. Haha!

Our class joined the inter-class football tournament which we won as second-runner up! Not bad for a class that majority play basketball. As for the basketball tournament, our class got champion. Thanks for registering my name in performing for teacher’s day that I myself had my 1st time experience dancing on the stage. We danced "tamparan wanita", "bunyi gitar" and "menuju puncak"! Gossh! All were AF, mun paham bisai… at that time; it’s the first season of Akedemi Fantasia Kali Ahh… HaHa! We had fun and the best performance on that day. Though I still feel “Malu” about the dancing’s performance. We had known as the “Aspirasi Family” by our neighboring class.

All those were histories and memories to us. What bout now? Lots of people got separated right after the graduation of each level in education. Some maybe going for further studies, attending other schools, start working or be a “ketua kampong”. Nowadays technologies are so high tech that we’ve hand phone that can call or sms, we got internet that can e-mail or msn. With just a will and a “click”, we now can have what we had lost for time being. Here’s what I got from the “Click”.

[Moments that we Aspirasi year 2003/2004 got together and had dinner in Rizqun International Hotel]

That’s the theme of the buffet that night.

Only the appetizers? Yong, where is the others? Err Err, we got there late. I’ll take others during my next visit there. =)

But I’ll get to take pictures with the aspirasi. Let me introduce all the kacak and the cantek!

First of all! The one with black shirt. That’s Sky a.k.a Ah-Yong! The only Chinese in the class. The one right beside is Murad a.k.a Murado. We’ve been as classmate since form2 and he’s my buddy in my secondary level too. We’re also the prefect in the school too! A friendly reliable one, we always there when there are duties. But also a “Salah Guna Kuasa Type” We always there because we want to skip class! Hahaha! -_-!!

That’s Farhan. Chilli Padi!

Amal a.k.a Panjang! She’s very tall. Shorter than me just a bit! She maybe tall and big size, but when she talks. Err Err -_-!! She’s my dance partner during the performance. Well, no one is taller than her other than me. Hahaha!

The one on the left, that’s Shikin a.k.a Pink! She like pink colours a lot that she carried pink bag, pink pencil bag, pink pencil case, pink mobile’s casing. Everything pink! What best describe these two. There are our candies’ supplier. 5days a week, every morning sure got candies at our table!

That’s Mawar. Our class’s big sister. She’s like big sister to us that she helps us out when we have problem. She advice us, she raise her voice when we’re too over. And she’s the head while quarreling with the teacher! Haha! And the guy on the right is Khairul, Mawar’s boyfriends. Thanks Mawar for the Bill that night!

Those are the one whom made it on that night. It’s okay if it’s only these much these time because it had broken the digit 0! Sedikit-sedikit, lama-lama pun jadi bukit! =) Last time, we’re just a class of happy, playful, simple-minded, and some are naughty <- just like the two reliable prefects! Haha! But now, everyone had their own path to pursue. Some of attended UBD or ITB, some of you got out for further studies, some works for the Government, some works for the banks. It’s really nice to hear all these from you guys. Let’s us work hard towards what we pursuing. Wish success upon you all! Berusaha lah kawan-kawan saya, all the kacak-kacak and the cantek-cantek!

Rizqun got the themes for the month of August well planned. You all can ask for the flyers from the people in charge there. Then you can start to plan what themes you decide to go with your family, relatives or friends for dinner to celebrate birthday? Just a small gathering? Bringing your parents to enjoy a luxurious dinner? Everything also can. Remember, just a “Click” =)

This is for the month of July.

This is for the month of August. Ohh yeah, I won’t forget you. Thank you, Faizal! <- The person in charge there. U played a great host to me every time I visited there. V-_-V

“One Night Local Foods”

One year studied in U.K! A year which you explored new places, tried new foods, pursued higher level of education and also gained new experiences. This is the time that you leave home for a long time; this is the time that you miss your family, friends and home all the times. Haha! Other than attending school, you start the full responsibilities in taking care of yourselves that you have to do the chores in the house, wash clothes that you’ve wore and cook/ preparing foods for your tummy. In Brunei, mum always prepare fried rice/ noodles, porridge, kueh-mueh for us as breakfast. As for lunch and dinner, there is always 2-3dishes and 1soup served at the dining table.

In U.K, all the menus had changed because rice is not the staple food in there. Morning, you prepare yourself toaster, cereal, baked beans or maybe take away from the nearby fast foods restaurants. Instead of “RICE”, pastas, spaghettis, oven-baked foods start to be the daily foods for you. Everyday seems to be the same menu or cook till don’t know what to cook! Hahaha! Now you understand the greatness and the hardness of mum? =P

There are times that you miss your favorite dishes cooked by mums, aunts, uncles, grandpas, grandmas or maids. You wouldn’t miss out the Nasi Katok or Nasi Lemak in Brunei, Satay, Seria Kolomee or Keow Tiaw, Thiam Hock’s Fish head Curry, Char Siew Bun and … … There is one which lots of you must be thinking of all the time which is “Indofood Mee Goreng”! Or maybe “Maggie” Mee Curry Ayam! All those foods that you all, one by one start play inside your mind just like slide shows. Times had passed, slowly the craving of eating all these also got lesser and lesser because starts to get used to lifestyles there. In malay, we called it “Sudah Biasa Liao” Now, all of you had got back from U.K! Let’s us welcome you all back with “One Night Local Foods”.
