Little India In Brunei

How well do we understand about India?

When I was small, the school taught me that India is famous for its SPICEs.

Of course not the SPICE girls... They're from the "Ang Moh" country, not from India.

It's the spices that are use for food addictive as the purpose of flavoring, coloring or preserving. Like "Curry" that originated in India which is used to flavor foods. Other than curry, "Kurma" & "Rendang" is what we always come across all these time. It's one of the dishes that always serve in catering, buffet and mostly in every occasion celebrated.

But the spices that produces is not only curry, rendang & kurma. Our ancestors in the past don't travel far out to India just to trade Curry with Silk... There are lots of spices to be traded & introduced to the world outside. And people willing to use the times of months traveling using ship bearing the strong winds & wave to reach India for its SPICES.

And now in the twentieth century, we don't need to travel out far to India to get to know/ taste the spices. Mankind now have the powers, technologies & resources that we don't have to use months to try the spices. In fact, it takes minutes nowadays...

[Tandoor.com] An authentic Indian cuisine restaurant that located behind of The Arch Building in Gadong. Definitely a place that serves more than "Curry". =D

Introducing "NAAN", a leavened & oven-baked flat bread.
It can be eaten by brushing or scooping...

"Chutney", spicy preparations used as an accompaniment for the main dishes.

Tandoori Chicken, one of the main dishes of Northern Indian Cuisine. It does taste spicy in a way but also not in a way. Don't know how to describe it. It's just so SPECIAL...

The Kurma Prawn...

Gobi Manchurian [Indian-Chinese Cauliflower Fritters] does looks like Cucur to me...

Mutton, surprisingly we can't find a beef menu. That's because most Indians are Buddhism and Buddhism doesn't eat beef. Especially thanks to Mr.Andy for the information, it does really make sense.

Ice-Creams...

Are the ice-creams taste differently & special too?

Errrmm... Nope!!! We had ice-creams too, that's because...

Buffet Dinner with 12 FLAVORS OF ICE-CREAMS!!!

Here are the 12 FLAVORS OF ICE CREAMS

Other than enjoying the foods serve inside, the spices that make the tastes so special. The decorations & designs of the restaurant also have the India feel.

Besides eating, we can do sight-seeing too...

And also pictures taking for the couples.

While you're eating your meals and you're worrying about the progress of the games in Facebook, how's your staffs going in the "Restaurant City", time to harvest the crops in "Barn Buddy". There is no worry for it because Tandoor.com also provide complimentary internet access for the customer.

Maybe you can surf online to check on the menu/ info of Indian Cuisine before we start ordering...

That's explain why "food-hungry.com" was spotted at the address link of the web browser!!!

Despite the foods & ambiance of the restaurant, it's one nice experience dining in Tandoor.com because of the nice service from its captain...

Daniel Jacob, one friendly man here and he gave a present as a complimentary of being the man of the night. "Being the man of the night is the people that ate the most on that night" Don't know that it's good or bad while receiving these gift!!!

But it's okay... I feel very SIOK...

because I can eat, enjoy and got free gift from the captain. And I thought the gift is something that is from India...

I was so happy until...

I saw these SELLING in the supermarket that is just downstairs of Tandoor.com!!!

I was wrong for all night long that day and also being "自做聪明"!!!
