Miri Trip With George & Shirley [Part2]

Back in the time, there was a small discussion about "Panggang Ikan" that I had with my friends!

We discussed & shared our ideas on how "Panggang Ikan" is cook? What's delicious about it? Where we can eat nice & tasty "Ikan Panggang" in Brunei and etc.

"Panggang" = "Grilled"
"Ikan" = "Fish" -__-!! Haha... [Grilled Fish] Majority of us do enjoy eating BBQ's foods like chicken wings, lambs, hotdogs and a lot more. And one more that we won't miss it out which is fishes. BBQ fishes are also nice & tasty to eat when we grilled it. Especially when we dip it with ...

As for the Panggang Ikan, we either can BBQ it ourself or we can buy it at "Pasar Malam Gadong" in Brunei. As the discussion carried further more, we talked from "Ikan Panggang" to "Ikan Bakar".

"Ikan" = "Fish"
"Bakar" = "Burn" [Fish Burn] What's that? Hehe! =D

Ikar Bakar which is Hot-Plate Fish that the fish is cook on the hot plate.

Another "pattern" that serves TASTY fishes too!!!
And what's the secret behind these hot-plate that serves tasty fishes too?

It's the "Sambal"!!! Sambal is a side dish that serves in Indonesian & Malaysian Cuisine. These spicy relish is made with fresh chillis, chilli pepper and numberless variations can be created by the addition of vegetables, fruits, meats, shrimp paste and additional seasonings like Kicap Manis. [A Sweet & Spiced soy sauce]

When 1+1, it gives us 2! And when Ikan + Hot Plate + Sambal, it gives us these...

Due to not much restaurant that serves Ikan Bakar in Brunei, so we're bringing in the places in our neughbouring countries that serve nice Ikan Bakar. And here's...

Ikan Bakar we can eat at Kuala Lurah.

Then I brought up one famous place in Miri,Sarawak that serves nice Hot-Plated's foods and seafoods. The place where it serves really "FRESH" seafoods!!!

大头虾 "Big-head Prawn" that is also known as 淡水虾! And it's "ALIVE"! haha! =D

Other than Fresh foods serve, it also comes with varieties of choices too!!!

白蝌虾 The prawn that we usually have for Butter Egg Prawn, Deep Fried Prawn and etc.

Oysters

Ketam!!! Ahem-ahem! kekeke! =P

Squid

Fishes that are being supply to the restaurant everyday!

High horsepower car gives us Speed, Big muscle-man gives us Strength, Happy brings us Smile and FRESH ingredients give us DELICIOUS!

Telling the story half day, what's the name of the place?

It's [Meng Chai Seafood Centre] 明财铁板烧!

Then I continued to talk about these restaurant. I once heard from an uncle that always visit that restaurant. He said that a restaurant which allocated beside these Meng Chai Seafood Centre needs weeks time to earn what Meng Chai Seafood Centre earned in a day! That restaurant opens at daytime only and as for Meng Chai, it opens only at Night time...

And then my friend in the end asked me! "Yong, you know how to get into that place? You show us the way next time!" then I answered.

[I can't because I never been there before and never try the foods at there too!!!]

WAHLAU!!! and you talked & sounded like you'd been there like that!!! PIANG EII~

Hahahaha!!!

And what's the secret behind these Meng Chai Seafood Centre that makes her so fame?

Is it the "SAMBAL" again? Hahaha!!!

Or since selling alcohol is legal in Malaysia...

So is it the TIGER BEER then???

[明财铁板烧] its direct translation is Meng Chai's hot plate! It's neither the SAMBAL nor the TIGER BEER...

It's the HOT PLATE that are behind all these!!! Hehe! The hot plate is just a tool just like car. Without a good driver, the fastest car also can be a normal car too! Just like these hot-plate, without a good cook, it can't be operates well!!! And the boss is the one that operates it, using these hot-plate to serve his customers with Marvelous & Tasty seafoods!!!

Without a good chef, the fishes that cook on it wouldn't be these nice...

Looks like the fish is cook with deep-fried's style instead of hot-plate's style. It's actually cooked with Hot-Plated's style and how does the boss did it? The uncle once told me about Meng Chai Seafood Restaurant also told me that why the hot-plate in Meng Chai is so delicious. It's because of the ingredients that he himself mixes & the sauces that he himself creates. Just like KFC! The blends of 11herbs and spices' secret recipe. Hahaha!!!

And for these time, I blogged Meng Chai like I'd been there and had tried the foods there!
