A Small Sight Seeing @ Labuan

DSC06502
Welcome to Labuan!

What do you have in mind when talk about Labuan?
Isn't it an island? Is it a small town that have lots of old shop buildings? Is it a place that don't have big shopping complex/mall? Is it a place where there aren't any place to go?

DSC06697
Yeah, it is! It's one small town with many old shop houses and buildings.

DSC06691
There aren't much shopping mall like what we have here in Brunei or Miri.

DSC06693
The town of Labuan is just as big as Bandar Seri Begawan which we can walk around those shop houses.

But for me,

Labuan is more than a small town or one small island!!!

It's a place where there are a lot of sight-seeing to do.

Unlike Brunei or Miri, Labuan has one Chinese temple that is four-story tall and an underground basement under it.

Right at the town, there is public library.

Wee brought me here for a visit.

It's the MARINE MUSEUM where they exhibit the marine life's habitats, the species of fishes, sea snails, sea corals that is found in sea of Labuan. Other than that, they also exhibit artifacts from ship-wreck, replica and illustrations of the marine's life and etc.

Too bad, there aren't any pictures taken because it's closed during that time! Thanks to the taxi driver who "SABOH" me & wee.

Just right beside the marine museum, there is beach.

Because Labuan is an island, that makes her a nice place that surrounds with beaches. And this is one of the beach that I encounter.

Pantai Tanjung Purun

And there is one restaurant located there where it's definitely one fantastic and romantic place to dine in.

A five minutes walk away from the museum, there is Labuan Clock Tower.

It's one of the historical monuments in Labuan. Labuan is one of the place that was invaded by the Japanese during the second world war. And it is named as Maida Island at that time. There are couple of places which had its own historical stories like the "war memorial", "peace park" and "the chimney".

I want to say that Labuan's people are creative. On our way walk to the financial park complex, there is the skateboard park that catch our attention.

It's not that we saw people skate like the legend, Tony Hawk. It's the park that look even more KICK ASS than Tony Hawk.

DSC06601
It's all covered with Graffiti.

And I personally like this one, it looks so cool with the spraying of the paint making the effect of the cartoon's emotion.

It's really creative even the name of the artist also out-of-the-box!

DSC06616
BIHUN SOUP!!!

We Bruneian are also Creative in a way too. Brunei Yakin! They can draw. BUT...

DSC06627

DSC06599
We can skate even WITHOUT skateboard! Even more KICK ASS than Tony Hawk.

DSC06531
There is still places that I'd not go. Maybe next time???

DSC06689
This is the An'Nur Jamek Mosque.
